I'm an aspiring game developer and lifelong programmer. I like games a normal amount :)
An incomplete list of stuff I did :)
A game about undead at the end of the world. I made this for the Summer Slow Jams 2023: Narrative jam. I wanted to learn Unreal because it seemed fun, and I also had a lot of fun learning blender to make the 3ds models, and learning a bit more about music to make some of the music. I think most of the music was made by @summer_cashier, who kindly donated her time to help me out. Anyways, was a very fun time, despite being a not amazing product in the end
This was a game I made as a part of a team in Godot 4. We made it for our college's game development club with the concept of a "no legs platformer." You control a little ball snake that can shift gravity around a little bit to navigate through levels. We made a lot of mechanics but most of them didn't end up in the final product. I made all the levels, all the art for the sans level, and a bunch of the mechanics that made it in the final product, including the player's movement.
I've been told it's pretty hard, maybe mostly due to the acceleration since there isn't an actual cap on how fast you can go. We wanted to implement a terminal velocity, but we never got around to it because pretty much everyone except myself got burned out after doing this and another game jam (SGDA x EGA) and I was busy working on the levels and stuff. Still, this is the project I'm the most proud of :)
This was the game I made for the SGDA x EGA game jam. It is not good, so I didn't provide a link to it. If you find it please do not play it. It was the first game jam I participated in and I didn't end up joining a team with anyone cause I got scared so I just made it by myself. I would recommend working with other people during a game jam. It seems more fun.
Despite not being a good game, it did win a prize for Best Narrative, which was pretty cool.
A cozy game about fishing, by Pog Productions (check out Marty, the game's composer/sound designer). This was actually the first playable game I ever made!
Pog Productions was formed for a game development course at our college and we made this game for that class. I put together most of the code for everything. I had a lot of fun putting together the dialogue system :)
I didn't do a lot of coding for this game, actually, which was interesting and a bit of a change of pace from the other games I was making at the time (No Leg Up and Queenmaker). Instead of too much coding, I put together the menu and the credits screen and talked with the lead about the design of the movement mechanics.
This is an unfinished project I made to learn the Godot engine. I made it after playing Katana Zero so the movement and camera controls were heavily inspired by it, but of course it isn't finished. I did also make a finished dialogue system inspired by a video by Afely about basic dialogue in Godot. I modified the dialogue system for the sans level in No Leg Up and I think it turned out pretty well.
